Knock on driver side front (possibly loose caliper)
Hey all,
so Ive had a knocking sound when I hit a bump that comes from drivers side front tire. Yesterday I put new hub assemblys new rotors and pads on both front tires. When putting the caliper back on the driver side I realized that the rubber bushing that the two bolts holding the caliper on go through are way oversized like from another vehicle. When all put back together back on the ground I can shake it a little with my hand. Other side doesn't move. All that to ask can I just get new rubber to fix that or do I need to get a new caliper ?
thanks

That said your options are either, replace the caliper or find a sleeve that properly fits the caliper bolt and the incorrect caliper so the caliper can slide, but doesn't have play in it. Honestly, it's probably less work to replace the caliper and bleed the brakes than it will be trying to find something to mickey mouse it.

Not the caliper
Well found out that wasnt the knock
Fixed the caliper with some new slide bushings from oreallys
Started shaking poles under the front of the jeep everything is loose

Well, I was close. All the rubber bushings in the steering and suspension get stiff, shrink, crack and deteriorate over time. Always a good idea to inspect everything and think outside the box.
