hi all,
I have a 96 Cherokee country, 4.0L 4wd -- all stock
I just did the "key trick" three times and the codes don't make sense
according to that list
I got -- 3,2,8,2,2,5,5 -- which I think is -- 32-84-55
but there is no 84 in the list
is there an updated list somewhere?
Thanks in advance!!
just did it again and I'm sure it's -- 32 -- 84 -- 55

here is something that I found. http://offroad-review.com/new/index.php?page=161
I would try it again. Maybe the 8 should be 4,4 .

so going by that -- it's 32-44-22-55
32 - An open or shorted condition detected in the EGR solenoid circuit. Possible air/fuel ratio imbalance not detected during diagnosis.
Could be
44 - Battery temperature sensor in voltage above or below acceptable range.
didn't know it had a temp sensor on the battery
22 - Engine coolant temperature sensor above or below acceptable voltage.
this is possible too
What's happening is sometimes it stalls when it gets hot, I let it cool off for a while and it cranks right up -- I thought it was the ignition coil and I'm going to try to change that again but I think it's something else.
why would they mount an ignition coil right to the motor where it could get hot?
