Just dedcided, cross over steering...

Well, as some of you may know, I'm in the process of rebuilding the ENTIRE front end of my Jeep. I was planning on going back with all stock parts on the steering, but after pricing everything, I found that I can build a cross over set up for close to the same amount of money. That makes it a pretty darn easy decision!! Once I get all of the parts for the rebuild, I'll be posting all of it as I go, so stay tuned!!

Sounds good man. Ill definantly be paying attention to this one as im gonna be building one when i swap in my D44

COSXJFAN 04-30-2009 11:20 AM

I'll send you already built, if you send me a D44!! What a deal!!

J/K, I want a D44 very badly, but all in due time!!

You better also put this in a write up you know where.... :)

okcjeeper 05-05-2009 05:01 PM

I expect a full writeup myself. Only thing I'd have to do different maybe is not use the tube adablters and just tap the tubing and such since i can't weld. Plus I don't know anyone around that can atm..

Yup sure is. Couldnt be happier with it.

nick_n_ii 05-05-2009 06:35 PM

I ran that setup on my ZJ. Was real happy with it other than I was lifted to high for the steering's limits..

I didn't have access to all of the taps, and a 3/4" reverse thread tap is not cheap!! It made it a pretty easy decision for me!! I like the fact that I got the hex tube adapters, that way I can get a wrench on there, instead of boogering it all up with a pipe wrench. With .250" D.O.M. tubing, and a couple of rosette welds in addition to the full weld at the base of the tube adapters, it should be plenty stout when complete!!

I guess I need to get one of my own huh?? I really want one, and could prolly make a litlle cabbage on the side, but I just flat don't have a place to put one!! I've already done the math, and for less than 5K in tools, I could have a *****in shop, that I could do almost anything in!! That's really not that much in the grand scheme of things!! OK, so anyone got 5K burnin a hole in their pocket.....anyone??:help:
