i just bought a 88 cherokee cheif for $2,000 everything runs great in it except the ac isnt that cold how do i convert it to r134? and when i have it in 4wd i get a popping when im climbing hills but not on flat ground does anyone know what it could be??

 

Hi and welcome to CF from Tj...You have 2 choices with the AC, you can retrofit it for R134 but that means changing valves, sucking down all the old freon and oil or you can get "Freeze 12" (r12 replacement) from either a store or eBay. 2- sounds like the transfer case chain is slipping or a bad u joint...Tj
