Junkyard D30 Won't Spin
So I just picked up a D30 from the junkyard and they gave it to me with calipers still on it so I didn't test it there. I get it home and the right side axle doesn't spin. The left moves freely though.
Is it possible the gears are messed up? Or what would cause the one side to freeze up?
I posted a video so you can see what's happening.

If one side spins and the other doesn't, take the caliper off and see if that helps

I took another video of the gears and they look ok to me. And I was finally able to get it to turn, but there is a lot of build up and then it kind of breaks tension and turns.

If you spin the axle and the pinion yoke spins then you probably have a bad unit bearing.

I will get a better video of everything in a little bit.
The knuckle on that side doesn't turn, which I figured was a bad u-joint and was going to replace anyways. Would that prevent the axle from spinning though?
Hypothetically if the inner gears were bad, would that be an easy fix with basic hand tools? The gears, axles, etc... on the D30 I'm replacing are all in good shape so if it's not too difficult I can transfer anything over to the new axle assembly that I need to.

Here is the video:
Basically I'm just turning both axles to see how the other would react as well as the pinion yoke. At the end I was turning the pinion yoke back and forth.

So I was able to get the axle off and I was surprised at how easy the nut came off. I only had trouble with one of the hub bearings because I couldn't get leverage to break it free with the axle assembly on the floor.
The hub bearing is shot, so I'll swap that out. And the u-joint is toast. So how do I go about getting that out?

there is a few ways, with or without special tools, check Youtube
a hammer and sockets will usually work, but not prefered
