Default Junkyard axle questions.

I have found an 8.8 out of a 2002 explorer "Sport Trac" fourdoor truck. it has 4.10 gears. Is this the same one thats in the explorers? Is it a good one for a swap? Also found 2 different 8.5's on 4cy. XJ's. a 1995 with ID tags that say 85 or 35 and 1005. trying to found out if it has 4.10 gears in it. The other 8.5 has 1 tag on it that says 2752. again trying to find out what gears are in them. I have the VIN numbers and wounder if the stealership could tell me if no one knows. thanks in advanced.

I think they would tell us that to scare us into buying new gears from them. So the sport trac 8.8 is the same width as the regular explorer.

Ok, hopefully 1 of those 8.5's have 4.10's If not I think I'll get the 8.8. the jy is asking 450.00 for it. Just not sure if thats a good price for it. I can get a 8.8 from another jy for 250.00 but it has 3.73 in it. but I'd rather have the gears already done.

Thats what I was thinking, but it is the only axle that I have found with 4.10s. the JY wants 250.00 for the XJ axles. Hopefully one of them has the 4.10s

I know they did for either '87 or '89 with a tow package. Just not sure with the '95 I found. It does have a tow hitch, But I dont know if its factory installed. I was not able to figure what year model the other one was.
