Default Jeep XJ Dust Cap

I was reading my repair manual for my 1998 Jeep Cherokee and saw it mention dust caps which I'd never seen before. My rims came with the original center caps but the replacements are more expensive than I'd like. Does anyone know where to find these?

My jeep is 2wd. Came with these but I'm missing 2 or 3 and would rather not pay $30 or so a piece so looking for cheaper alternatives to cover the hub

2WD Jeeps (like mine) do use those "dust caps" in your first pic (aka grease retainers) on the front. As the name implies, they keep crud out of the wheel bearings. You only need 2 of these.

Your 2nd pic is basically a hub cap. It's pretty much only "ornamental".

The dust caps can be found at just about any place that sells trailer parts.

What year is your XJ?

1998. I was wanting to paint my rims black but since I'm missing a few of the center caps, the wheel hub is showing so I wanted a cheaper way to cover that.
