jeep wont start plz help!!!!
OK guys here's the problem: a few days ago the jeep wouldn't start. I've got a duralast gold battery that's.less than a year old. Tried jumping it but nothing happened. Next I took the battery out and charged it over night. When I put it back in the next morning it started right up. Today the same thing happened but it managed to start with a hitch. I had to give it gas to start but whenever I took my foot off the.accelerator the rpms didnt stop at the normal idol, instead it drops to 0 and the engine dies. In the past I've had this issue when the terminals came loose over the battery post but they're tight. Has anyone experienced any similar problems? Any suggestions? This is my DD and without it I'm screwed.

Sounds like the battery is dead dude. Having to hold the gas down at startup is because of the extreme load placed on your alternator trying to charge it.
Make sure your connections are clean and shiny. Otherwise, warranty time!

Its your fuel pump....(atleast thats what mine was) I had the same issue...it would only start up with you giving it gas. As soon as i would let off the gas it would die
I brought mine away b/c i had no idea what was going on, no check engine lights or anything. I could hear the fuel pump turn on too.
I had 8 lbs of fuel pressure in my line at the rail...jeeps need just shy of 50lbs i think
have your fuel pressure tested first...battery should be fine if it cranks
anything less than 45lbs (i think) is low fuel pressure
Let me know via pm if this is what yours is

Well guys I lucked out. After a quick test on the battery at work I found out the battery had a dead cell. Since it was still under warranty I didn't pay anything and problem solved! Thanks
