Jeep won’t crank

I have a 2000 xj and it just ran yesterday. I was riding dirt bikes all day and came back later that night to leave and it won’t start. My radio comes on and fuel pump and everything beeps but it won’t crank at all. Idk why it’s doing this?

Try it with the shifter in neutral. If that works, most likely need to clean the NSS sensor. That also controls the backup lights if they're not working too.

Like lawson says. If you hold the key over on start and jiggle the shiftier around park and neutral and it starts, it's a gummy NSS.
