Default Jeep will not stay running

I think I screwed up the last thread? Anyway I have changed the O2 sensor, the resistor on the side for the fuel pump, and the engine control unit. It will run about 5 seconds and then stop.

Sounds like a bad fuel pump to me. Hook a pressure gauge up to the fuel rail test port and just turn the key to on. Once you hear the fuel pump prime, if you don't have 30 PSI. the fuel pump is bad. If you get 30 PSI next, you need to disconnect the vacuum hose to fuel pressure regulator. The pressure should be 38-39 PSI. If you don't, the fuel pressure regulator is bad.

Ok I will give that a try. Would the pump go bad because the wires crossed on the O2 sensor? Is there an inline fuse of some sort for the fuel pump?

There is a fuel pump relay but, no inline fuse that I am aware of.

Aubrey,
I had a similar issue where it would start and die after 5 sec. I replaced everything, except for the fuel pump. I bought a rebuild kit for my 89 for $70 dollars and after two weeks of replacing parts it started right up.

ballast resistor inside right fender by air box, there are two wires going to this unplug them both and put a wire bridging the to.... it WILL run, your resistor is bad i can almost guarantee
