Need more details. What year? Is check engine light on?o2 sensor or battery comes to mind. What about the basics like ignition system or grounds?vacum lines etc. can't narrow it down without the best details possible.

It's a 96 4.0l iv looked at vacuum lines one has a bolt stuck in the end don't know where it goes and all grounds are connected I don't know how to test if 02 sensors are bad but engine code reads running lean and neutral starter switch is bad.also new crank sensor ignition pickup and distributor

Have you verified fuel pressure? Checked spark plugs condition? Proper plugs? Any other symptoms? High idle or misfire that sort of stuff. Do you know any of the history of the vehicle? Any major repairs before you got it?and what is the trouble code in number form? And find out where the vac line goes that isn't connected.

I recently had a very similar issue, Fuel pressure regulator fixed it on my 93 ZJ. However my girls 2000 XJ had a starting issue with a running lean code and it was fixed with new injectors. Good luck man.

Almost seems like a bad 02 sensor. Maybe try unplugging the upstream 02 if the fuel pressure is ok.
