Default jeep smells hot

well i took it fishing with me the other day and took a good hour romping through the woods trying to get around down trees blocking the access road, lots of mud and loose dirt and sticks and such but nothing too major.

now every time i drive it I just smell hot stuff lol almost like what it smells like when a car over heats, temp gauge is normal just slightly under half, no fluids leaking, all the fluids are at the right level and most are almost brand new, got underneath it tonight and felt around after driving 10 miles or so, same smell but nothing seems abnormally hot, tranny pan is warm but not enough to burn my hand, t-case same, both diffs same,i wasnt dumb enough to stck my bare hand on the oil pan though loli just dont know what it is, i've looked over everything i could and still cant find the cause.

ooooh and of course the brakes and e-brake were the first things i checked, any suggestions?

Not a big fan of you going off the designated trail. In the case you mentioned you may have muddy water and gunk under your rig on the exhaust. That always makes for a weird smell.

On some of the local old fire roads I used to drive on we would occasionally have that crud bake on to the exhaust and boy does it stink. On the trail thing, sorry if I jumped on ya, but I'm a tread lightly fan.

your preaching to the choir man, i cant tell you how many times i've been back there and found tire tracks and garbage all over, it cuts into your fishing time when you gotta pick up trash on the way in.
