Jeep overheating issue now blown engine issue

Good day

I was having some problems with my jeep overheating in the past weeks after flushing the system changing the thermostat and replacing the temp sensor I thought I had the problem licked. I left the Jeep sit in the driveway for about an hour running and it never got above 210 so I though life was good. I got in and drove to town which is about 10 miles and still never got above 210 so I am thinking my problems are over. I get out and go in the store for about 10 minutes and come back out and the thing will barely crank over and the temp is peged as high as it can go so I sit and let the thing cool off and start heading for home. "how can it over heat not running" I get about 1/2 way home and all the valves start chattering and it starts missing while this is going on the temp never got above 210 so I did not think it was overheated. I get all but a mile from home and it shuts off will not start so I get out and check and their is not a drop of coolant in the engine It seems to of all boiled out through the overflow. I checked before I went to town and the exhaust was clear no smoke or sweet smell and nothing was bubbling through the radiator. I am at a loss any info on this dilema would be greatly appriciated.

Was there any sign of coolant leaking out? From your description it sounds like a hose blew up.

I checked th oil it is good It is still brown and there is no water.
no signs of water leakage anywhere except from the overflow

well I owe .25 being that there is no intermix. the only other answer is that is that it went into the combustion/water jacket and it is slight...you may have cracked head

if it is a head what years will interchange with my jeep

Keep in mind where the temp sensor is, If the coolant is low it is never in the coolant. Mine has overheated before and the temp gauge would be at like 210*.....!
