Jeep Over Heating
I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It over heated a few days ago. I let it over heat to see if the fan turns on and it didn't. It wont turn on with the A/C or when it gets past 210. I had a similar issue in 2007, I replaced the fan relay and it started working. My fuses are good and I replaced the fan relay. I let the vehicle over heat and still did not cut on any help would be great.

Welcome to CF. Have you checked the fuses/relays in the Power Distribution center under the hood? There's also a relay in there (besides the one under the headlight) that controls the radiator fan. It's #10. >http://www.wjjeeps.com/fuses.htm

I check the fuse under the hood and it's a #40. It is good I have checked it already. I'm not sure where else to go from here.

Can you unplug the leads to the fan and check to see if its getting voltage when the radiator is hot?
Can you run a couple of jumper wires directly from the fan to the battery and see if it comes on "hot wired"? That would narrow down the problem. |
I will try that tomorrow. I will post again and let you know if there was any change.

Thanks for the help. I ran it straight to the battery and found that the fan is bad. I'm ordering a new one. I'll update if there is anything else I fnd to be the issue.
