I just cut out all the rusted metal and formed some 16ga? or so sheet steel to fit in there. then I Mig'd it down and covered all the seams with seam sealer and after that set up covered the whole thing with bedliner and put the carpet back down when it was all dry.

Oh and pull out the ENTIRE carpet. if you have rust in one spot you have rust in others. I thought i had only 2 holes but found about a dozen more when i pulled the carpet in my 93.

That pretty much explains it. If you don't have a welder you can rivet the floor down. Either way works, obviously welding would be stronger but my pass. side floor is riveted and I haven't had any problems. Good luck, the best advice is to take your time and do it right (Who wants to fix the same problem twice).

agreed ^ ....i didn't have a welder so i used rivets which worked good, if you are using rivets you just have to make sure you grind away ALL of the bad unibody metal so your new 16ga sheet metal (i was able to get mine at home depot) has something legit to rivet to...if your good with fiberglass you can do that instead of seam sealer. i fiberglassed all of my sheet metal patches on my floor and it definitely made it a lot stronger once it was all dry. bedliner to finish it up and maybe a couple drain holes plugged with boat plugs and your floor is way better than new.
