jeep clunking

ok i have a manual transmission and when i am accelerating in 2nd 3rd or sometimes even fourth it like the transmission slips. i noticed i have a lot of play in my front u joint could this be the problem or is it something completely different. thanks

I'd replace the U-joint for sure, if there's play in it. You don't want it to fail while you're driving, it will probably damage the drive line, and $30 is cheap insurance. I'd also check the tranny fluid if you haven't already.

i would replace the ujoint but the front ujoint wont slip could be your clutch since you have a manual transimision
