Default Jeep cherokee runs almost hot.

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum so bear with me. Lol. I have recently purchased my first jeep. It's a 1988 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. The issue I'm having is it like to warm up on me while going up little inclined hills. It's got a 3 inch lift with 31 inch general grabbers. I replaced the frost plugs with brass ones and used the shellac sealer with it. Also my second question is , is I put a filter on the valve cover and it blows oil out through it. Any ideas on both issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Fan clutch is a likely culprit. As far as the oil, it's blow by. The rings are old.

Check the auxilary fan, it is supposed to come on anytime the engine reaches 210 or whenever your ac is on. The fuse on mine was all messed up and stopped the fan from working and my jeep would overheat fast. This is a likely culprit as well.

The excessive oil coming from the front of the valve cover is more likely an improper or blocked vacuum line on the rear most port of the valve cover.

Most likely the CCV system is compromised somewhere or he needs to do the valve cover mod.

It appears the folks from Arizona are on top of it!!

Dickie, describe "almost hot" please.

Also, the two wire connector to the fan: I squirted some electronic cleaner into both halves, let it dry, and plugged it back together, and suddenly the electric fan starts working for the first time (they are pretty loud).

Is "almost hot" sort of like "almost pregnant" ???
