Which is best and where can you get it?
Here is a pic of my engine.

It is a straight 6 4.0l
Of course after repairs.
Thanks

Kenny Bell makes an awesome supercharger. Of course its like $6000. Any turbo kit will have to be custom and therefore big $$$$.

Silber, you need an engine with very little miles (better new) on it to install a supercharger, an engine with lots of miles won't last long.

Mileage won't hurt the motor, you just need a well maintained engine to use.
I got a buddy that drives a supercharged wrangler with 248k, the motor had about 215k when he installed it. so far, no probs.
Mileage and reliability are not closely related, just maintenence and reliability.

Just use a 5.0 Ford and be done with it, much better support when it comes to parts. If that doesn't do it for you add a hair dryer, 16 psi, and methanol injection, that should liven things up enough. If not, I have more ideas.

Worn piston rings, blow by and bearing tolerance have nothing to do with maintenance.
After many miles the engine just isn't tight anymore.
The stress on pistons and rods of a supercharger can be 4-5 times more than normal depending on boost pressure.
An old engine will wear out fast. Very fast.
Another consideration: spending 3 grands for a supercharger kit on an old engine doesen't seem very clever to me.
Especially when you can rebuild a 4.0 completely with less than 500.

lol, after reading other's opinions on this thread, I decided to throw in my 2 cents... why not just get a hammerhead stroker motor for it?
