Default jeep 2.5L same as gm?

Is the jeep 2.5L the same as the gm 2.5L?
I mean is there any difference at all? thanks.

i beleive its the exact same as the s10 as for the block. i beleive the intake and accesories are all a tad different though

It depends.....

If you are talking the AMC 2.5 used after 1984 than no...

But for a period in the early 80's, AMC did use the GM Iron Duke 2.5l as their 4-cyl option.

Did the Cherokee or Comanche recieve the GM engine? That answer is no.

Old subject,
but i have a 1986 jeep cherokee 2.5L efi and I also have a 1990 chevy s10 efi, are the engines the same? Will the work? Thanks.

nope sorry the gm engine is different all the intake is on the right side and if you notice the amc is on left side the gm iron duke is a 150 ci. and the amc is 151 ci. sorry.
