Default J2000? axles under my cherokee?

Was in the yard and ive posted this pic in other places but was searching on the internet and found where some people say these axles are a easy and nice upgrade for the cherokee... What do you guys think? All i know about this one is it was built before 1974... from what ive read they have front and rear d44 axles... anyone have any knowledge on them or swapping there axles under a XJ? should be the same as a wagoneer or whatever... Its sittin in the junkyard so it aint going anywhere anytime soon... Thanks in advance!

J2000 would be a Gladiator if I recall right. As for width there wider than a FSJ (Waggy) there full width.

theres a wagoneer lookin thing right next to it 4x4 with axles too... they have the same front ends and everything... look almost exactly the same other then ones a SUV and the others a truck... ill look up gladiator and see if thats right... i dont mind full width axles as long as there worth it in eas of installation and strength...

The J2000 is the 3/4 ton version of the Jeep truck. The axles are wider than the XJ if course, but you can't use the front one under an XJ. The fullsize J trucks have the passenger side differential. Take a look at the Waggie though, it may have the drivers side diff.

i was reading a post in NAXJA and theres a guy that wrote all kinds of crap about axle swaps and gears and stuff i dont even understand... he says that if you can find the waggy with the drivers side pumkin that its probly the best d44 axle you can put under the front of a XJ in width and ease... i didnt even look when i was out there... have to check next time...
