Intermittent Loss of Power

So, my 97 XJ has been losing power randomly. At first it sometimes became sluggish on the first real acceleration of the day (0-40mph), maybe once a week. However, today it happened after the vehicle had plenty of time to reach operating temps and adding throttle resulted in a small backfire.

This has typically happened around 20-30% throttle and opening it up to 50% resulted in power coming back after a second or two, again, today that didn't work.

No other issues, gas milage is great, about 17 average with 22-23 on the highway.

No CEL. Going to run the codes anyways and test the TPS and O2 sensor tomorrow, might pull the plugs and check the color too. Is there anything else you guys can think to test or inspect instead of throwing parts at it?

Dirty injectors possibly? Leaning towards TPS though.

Clean/grease everything in your ignition system. If cap contacts have the slightest bit of corrosion or wear just replace, they're cheap and it needs to be done sometime anyway.
