Interior light
Hi I have a 2000 model cherokee and the interior light does not work. It never has sense I have owned going on three years. I looked all over for the fuse but the owners manual does not say where it would be at. Any help would be awsome.

Do your dash lights work? Because your dome lights are controled by the headlight switch, also have you checked the bulb in your dome light?

That's correct. The interior light would come on with the turn of your headlight switch regardless of how it acts when the door is open or closed. I can't rfemember, did you check your interior light bulb already? Maybe the connection to the dome light assembly itself is loose?

Electronics 101.
If you assume that the wiring is good and that you have a good load, ie your bulb, then your switch is bad or you have a lose for power or a bad ground. Most common issue with interior doom lights is a bad ground. Check the case and the mounting surface for a good ground, a test light or a multimeter would help you check and see if you have voltage. If you have volt to the bulb then is only one solution, you have a short to power or a break On ground side, since you have power and no fuse is blown that only leads to the bad ground. Try and overlay the ground, in other words try and create your own ground wire to complete the curcit. If the light comes on you found your problem, good luck with your diag
