Model: Cherokee
Engine: 4.0L
Interchangable
I am trying to find out if the automatic transmission is the same through out the cherokee i have a 98 and all i can find in junk yards out here is the older ones (96 and below) does anyone know if they are the same or if i will have to find a newer one here in Hawaii.

It was the same trans in earlier years as well and they will all bolt up to your engine. However, through the years a few sensors and connections have changed, example... 91 and older with the vac disco front axle will have vaccum connections and will not connect to yours. If you can get from a 94 and up you should be ok.
