Default installing New Speakers in My Project Jeep. Wire Problem

Okay I purchased a set of new kenwood speakers form my project jeep. When I purchased the jeep it didn't have a rear left speaker, and the other speakers were blown. Well I started to install the speakers by splicing them into the existing lines. The front two and rear right went perfect, but the rear left doesn't have any sound coming out of it. The speaker balance is set equal for all speakers. I'm thinking that there might be a short or something wrong with the existing wires. I know the basics of wiring, but i'm not proficient. Any tips or help would be much appreciated. Thanks

i would just run a new speaker wire for that speaker from the radio to the speaker and be done with it instead of waisting time trying to find the short or broken wire good luck

Use a low volt battery to the end of the wire connected to the speaker. You should hear a pop. Just do it quickly. Also look at the back of the speaker to make sure the connections aren't broke

yeah when i put my new system in, the factory drivers side door speaker didnt work..so i just ran new wire from the deck to the speaker and rigged up my own disconnects for going doorless. way easier than trying to track down the problem.

When I redid the interior of my Grand AM I replaced all of the factory speaker wiring with 16ga monster cable speaker wire. It made a big difference over the stock wiring.

If your willing to pull the panels out to get to it I would run new wires. Just leave the old wiring there and cut it at the radio harness if its too much work to remove it.

I've done this before and I just removed the plug from my factory speaker, then connected it to my speaker harness to the factory plug. I also connected the slide connectors on the speaker harness to my new speaker, and the job's done.
