Injector wiring

Ok moving on to another issue with my misfire. I found that I now have a pulse at #4, injector is bad there. My question for injector #2 is can I cut the driver wire at Pcm and run a new wire to a new pigtail connector for my injector? And splice in the existing power wire. Is there any shielding in the wires to the Injectors?

1995 Xj 4.0 Auto

Thanks
Chris

Note from DJ
More information on your possible broken wire point.

XJs have a known chafing point where the harness is damaged.

You may not find such obvious damage to your wiring but if you take the cover of that wire channel; if it were my Jeep I would leave it off.

If it were me I would run my fingers over the wiring in that area for something that just doesn’t feel just right because you may have a broken wire inside the insulation.

I‘m not sure if you are aware of the fact with the key in the ON or START position all of the injector have battery voltage to one wire of each injector connector. They only fire when they receive a ground signal at the correct time from the PCP.

Follow-up; if my diagram is correct you will have battery voltage to every injector on the Dark Green with Orange tracer wire with the key in the ON or START position engine not running or running.

The injectors are energized when they receive a momentary ground; this will only happen when the engine is running.

Yes I am aware of what you stated above. Thanks for all the replies however I went to the local you pull it yard and pulled a PCM this morning, swapped out and #2 is now working. I have another small issue that I will work on here when I warm up. Freezing outside. Lol. Thanks again for all your help.
