Injector upgrade
So iv been hearing alot about these injector upgrades, how do you know what neons have the right injectors? What will the swap do for me? Better gas milage, more power? I dont get why jeep just didnt use these injectors in the first place if there so great. And one more question, are they plug and play with my 98' ? Sounds good if theres no negative affects, which i havent heard of any. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

First, search will do great things for you. Please use it.
Second, it's searching game if you're not buying them from someone on here. Neon's came with about 6 different injectors between 96-01. Your Jeep being a 98 gives 2 possibilities. if it's an earlier 98, it's going to have what's called an ev1 connection. This would require you to use #703 injectors. If it's a late 98, it'll have an ev6 connection. This requires a #784 injector. The easiest way to tell the two connections apart from each other is that the ev6 will have a red retaining clip that slides up to allow the connection to to be removed. As for what you get from the swap, you'll end up with a smoother idle and better throttle response. Some have seen a minimal increase in MPG's, but it's due to having dirty injectors then putting in clean ones. Why Jeep didn't use them in the first place is probably due to the same reason they (Chrysler) used 6 different style of injectors in their Neon's - IDIOCY. Hope this helps. BTW, the results are well worth the 20 minutes it takes to do the swap.

Just to help your searching, look for 96-01 Neon's and Stratus's/Breeze's/Cirrus's. if they have the 2.4, there's a good chance they'll have 784's. If they have the 2.0, they might have the 703's (all depends on which injectors Chrysler decided to use for that one).

so it looks like I need the 703 injectors couse theres no red retaining clip on mine. I also found the injector swap writeup which had lots of good info. will be searching the jy's soon, also, is there any way of cleaning the injectors I get, like with carb cleaner or somethin? I dont want to install clogged ones.
