Injector Harness
 

I need to get an injector harness for my 1999 4.0 XJ. I was wondering would one from a TJ or WJ work or do I have to get one specifically for an XJ

You can only use the exact ones from the 99 XJs as for the younger and older cherokees the sensor and injector connectors differ. However you could get a harness from a 1997 to 1998 but then you would need to get the exact sensors and injectors from those years as well. They fit at the engine but have different connectors. The preFL harness will not fit at all.

Its the complete engine harness you need. That contains O2s, oil pressure, ignition, injectors, transfercase sensors etc. Get a FSM and check the routings in section 8.

Consider that the harnesses from a junkyard will most likely be brittle and faulty the same way as the one that is in your Jeep. Best way would be to get new connectors and new cables and start rebuilding the harness. Wire size AWG 18 is sufficient for all cavles in the harnes. Check ebay for the connectors.

Sometimes it is better to fix your harness .

The engine back fired a while back with the intake boot off and it burnt the wires to the injectors. Well they work for a few years but cylinder one finally gave out so i think it’s beyond fixing
