The Inglorious life of "Da Heep"
I just thought that I would share a sad story with you guys, that might not turn out to be that sad.
I bought this 1985 Jeep Cherokee with a 2.5L 4 Cyl. Carb. Engine. Last September. For $300.00. The engine was supposed to be on it's last mile.
After hooking up some things, and patching up a broken fuel line. a lot of rewiring and fixing an idiots's "fixes" It ran almost brand new.
Still burnt a some oil and eventually the Valve cover broke. And was replaced.
Plastic unfortunately.
But then this last December, I hit a patch of black ice comming around a corner that I prolly shouldn't have been going around as fast as I was. And it rolled and rested on it's top in the ditch.
And after a week sitting in our shop, some of you guys on here gave me a great idea. Give Da Heep a second chance.
And make a convertible. This is how far I have come. I will be putting a full cage on it, with old school folding windshield and a different motor, maybe. If I do swap motors I am going to use a V-6 Ford ranger motor, and the running gear as well. Unfortunately I couldn't fit something like a 350 or a 440 into this thing without significant modification.
