Cool Im a lil new to jeeps

I got a 91 jeep cherokee sport
and right now its out of comission due to breaking of the headers and blowing a gasket.
What would couse my 4x4 to stop working?
do you think if i gut out a grand cherokee for the seats if they will fit?
i plan on making my jeep a sand/dd what would be the best lift and tire combo for the money i was thinkin bout th 8" long arm but i dont know if i wanna sit that high i herd that you can use bronco 2 and really an ford suv springs on a cherokee is it true?
should i have the spare with a roof rack of on bumper and what bumpers should i get?

8" of lift is going to bring along with it alot of other modification that you'll want to be sure you're ready for, ie a Slip-Yoke Eliminator, new driveshaft, etc. And the size tire that 8" will allow will mean at the very least upgrading to new axle shafts and lower gear sets, but really if you're going to be running anything at all above a 35" tire, you should probably look at upgrading axles assuming you've got the Dana 30/Dana 35 or Chrysler 8.25 combo. A front Dana 44 and an 8.8 out of a Ford Explorer would be your best alternatives. They're stronger and will give you more gear ratios to accommodate your larger tires.

If you're REALLY new to Jeeps, you may want to start off a little smaller, maybe a 4.5" lift kit from Rubicon Express or Rough Country. Even Rubicon Express' 5.5" Extreme Duty kit would be a good place to start if you want a good amount of lift. You could easily fit 33s or even trim and raise your fenders to stuff 35s in there. Tire clearance is great, but not at the cost of destroying your COG (center of gravity), especially if you plan on making it a DD.

well i have a set of dana 44s for front and rear just sittin around iv read about the 8.8 conversions just didnt really think i would wanna do that cuz the 44s are just as good..
besids the driveline angles
i saw the whole 8" kit on rustys off road went threw with everything i would tink i needed for the lift (i.e) sye, drive shafts, gears, steerbox brace, drop pitman arm and it was around 2100...

Forget about the DPA, they will do nothing but harm. If you are planning on running a life over 6" then plan on doing it the right way, aka completely new steering to handle the tires that you plan on running.

With 37's your going to want to run aftermarket steering. Also I would be worried about your lift being too top heavy rather then ur tires.

If you're looking at Rusty's, look at their 1-ton steering if you intend to go with a tire that big.

You also may look into JCR's one ton steering setup.

That is normally a good way to think, unless you're talking about steering components! If they break, you and others on the road around you, could be dead!! Not trying to be a jerk, but if your steering fails, you're in for some serious ****!! Just my $.02 worth, take it as you will. Good luck, and remember, SAFETY FIRST!!

that is quite a list of parts you wanna get. first, no need for 8" on sand. You would do plenty fine with 3" and 33s, saving you a s*** ton of cabbage. second, yes, safety is FIRST, and steering is probably the number one safety issue on a vehicle. third, research a lot before you do anything. my .02 on the matter.
