I have a stock 88 xj. it is my daily driver. recently, i learned about gm steering columns, their tilt wobble, and the joy of knowing your column through and through. i'm ready to put this sucker back in but after keeping up with all these parts for far too long, I'm missing the fastener at the (forgive my lack of cool guy jargon and or parts nomenclature) junction of upper and lower steering mechanisms. there is a knuckle that requires a bolt to pinch onto end of the steering column that ive put back through the firewall. I DONT HAVE IT. I DONT REMEMBER IT.I CANT FIND MENTION OF IT.I NEED IT.WHAT IS IT?

first of all thank you. this is my first ? an d response and I'm really grateful. well that is essentially the idea but that's not what i recall from days ago when i was under it. i recall a female receiver for the male end coming through the fire wall. i can feel and barely see a slot or cutout to give flex and a hole that goes through, one side to the other. i didn't see that piece you've shown. my instinct says it will be hex head bolt with threads on the last 1/4. I'm not a natural mechanic and i have no recollection of the piece (although I'm sure it was me that pulled it). ill go back and take a look and hit this forum tomorrow. mine is an 88 4.0.
