ignition switch replace
Hello,
I have a jeep cherokee 94 and half my electrical doesn't work. I discovered that when I turn my key sometimes a little bit or just fool with it sometimes everything turns suddenly on. So I think some contact in my ignition cylinder must be replaced, but have no idea how to get the to the cylinder. I attached a picture to make the instruction more easy.
Can anyone help here?
Dolph

It is not that bad of a job. You need to remove the steering wheel and horn systems then carefully remove the turn signal switching system. Pictures before taking apart are a help when putting it back together. After that is the key stitch, it has a pin holding it in place you remove or a clip. Out comes the switch put in a new one and reverse the install of removed items.
I locksmith did one for me the first time then I did the next one. It took him about 30 mins to get it done. Me about an hour. The next one I should be faster on after having done it once.

On your 94, the actual ignition switch is not part of the key cylinder nor is it in the steering column itself but rather is located on the steering column under the instrument panel. It is activated by a linkage from the key cylinder in the column.
