Default Ignition Problem?

So, I was driving to work today when I had an interesting experience. I hit a bump, and my keys fell out of the ignition... and the Jeep kept running. I actually drove the rest of the way to work like that, then put the keys back in and turned it off.
Strangest of all, the little Key dummy light on the dash (Sentinel Error) never came on.

Seems to me this isn't normal. Do I need to worry about this?

I wouldnt worry as long as it still needs the key to turn it off and on.
