Default Ignition Lock Cylinder Removal

Ok, so far this forum has been Great with the info on how to release the ignition lock cylinder on my 2000 XJ Sport. I tapped the cylinder with a hammer and the key turned, Great . However, now I am having a problem trying to get the cylinder completely out of the column. It will slide out about an inch, should be any other type of release or just pull harder or What. Thanks.

Hello. I have the same problem as the original poster. It is easy to get the cylinder to release but it only comes out about one inch and then it hangs up. the posted video is useful but in my 2000 the cylinder does not remove the same way. Is there another piece that needs to be removed?
