Idle issue
 

Recently, my 87 cherokee has been having an idling issue when it starts. It'll start up, and rev to about 3000 and won't idle down. I've had to just shut it off and restart it until it stops doing it. Any ideas?

Idle Air Control Valve, bolted to the intake manifold right behind the throttle body. Remove and clean. Then check the vacuum lines for any damage or leaks.

So it stopped right after I posted this, and hasn't done it since. Could it be a weather thing?

I would still do what Kalali suggested. Chances are the problem will come back.

I cleaned it. The vacuum lines don't look bad. I'm kind of stumped. But it hasn't done it again.
