Ideas to cover middle of the windshield above mirror
So when i drive my grandmas car a while back i noticed above the rear view mirror she has a bunch of black dots close together to block out alot of the sun. Anyway i can replicate that? i have no clue what its called and i really loved it because when i get off work at certain times the sun has to hit that spot just right where my visors dont reach and is just magical when it happens because its smack in the middle and if i had money on it it would never do it.....

I don't know but I'd like to have one if you can find them.
I cut a strip of window tint an ran across the top of my old work truck.
I may try that on my Jeep before I replace my rear view mirror.

I remember when I was younger my mom had a 87 Mercedes Benz 420 SEL. It had this 3rd sun visor over the rearview mirror.
Just like this I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I don't remember the size of it though.
EDIT: Not sure how it mounts either, but you could probably find one in a bone yard.

My mom uses a rubber band around the visor and a piece of carboard. When she needs it, she just slides the cardboard over and tucks it behind the rearview before she heads out. Its held in place by the strap at one end and the rearview at the other.

We had the windows tinted on the wife's car. They put an 'eyebrow' (I think that's what the tint guy called it) across the windshield. Love it! On each side of the windshield there should be a line with a few letters by it (glass marked by factory). Small writing, line about 1/4" long, forget what the letters are. Basically that is the lowest point on the windshield you can tint. Run a strip of limo tint from side to side, from top down to those marks on each side.

ive been thinking about this too and since i have some material left over from the headliner and the visors i had an idea for a little snap on visor that is just sits on the arm of the rear view mirror and would be easy to remove if necessay but i dont have final idea yet

How about buying a roll of tint material at Autozone and cutting it to the shape of the “dots” shade. A small piece like that should be easy for the DIYer to install, and you’ll have lots of material left to do it again after you screw it up the first time

So I have been following this thread and poking around on the internet cause I think EEVEE might be on to something. This is called Dot Matrix Tint apparently. Lots of post about people having trouble putting aftermarket screen tint over it. Anyway Googling dot matirx aftermarket screen tint led to many products on Amazon.
Now whether these would be good for a car application is anybodies guess.

The "bunch of dots", at the top of the windshield, between the sun visors, is called a "Third Frit" It is printed on the laminate that is between the two layers of glass that make up your windshield.
I would get a small piece of paper and tape it where you want to block light. Using a pencil, I would draw my pattern on the paper, remove it from the glass, cut it to size, and using that as a template, I would cut a piece of window film that blocks 95% of light to the size of the template and install it between the visors.
