Default I want like 2" of lift for cheap but don't wanna hurt me Jeep?

I know there are different ways to go about lifting an XJ but right now I am short on $ so I need like 2" lift for under $200 but I don't wanna hurt my XJ.

I will be doing some offroading but nothing with extreme flexing. Would I have to change my shocks?

Should I just save up for the 3-4.5" I will definitely have in the future but that will be a while down the road?

the advice i always give is save up money for the lift you want. dont buy a 2in lift now knowing you want/will have a 4.5in lift later down the road. i've had about 5 different lift combinations in my truck and im still not happy with it.

Would that, in any way, have a detrimental effect on my Cherokee?

It is a DD and I am 16 so my parents would be pissed if it got jacked up from something I did to it hahaha

I heard something like your frame can twist or something with a BB??? But could that happen on an XJ since it's unibody?

you'll be fine with a BB. the only thing is that you will have less down travel unless you change out shocks.

Lifts won't hurt your baby, just get lots of PB Blaster (go to napa or auto zone or something like that and ask for it. It's a lubricant) and spray the S**T out of everything you'll be loosening for a few days before. this'll make it easier to undo. People do lifts all the time. The only "detrimental" effect is maybe a little bit higher center of gravity. It's well worth it if you plan on wheeling at all.

^ x2. Look at it this way: would so many of us lift our XJ's if it was detrimental to the jeepy?

Won't a 2 inch shackle lift do nothing but cure the sag in the back end and bring it back to where it's supposed to sit? Why not go with at least a 3 inch lift where you'll actually notice some added ground clearance and room for bigger tires?

You mean there is actually something that detrimental to the XJ??? I mean outside of the running without water, oil, trans fluid, or all 3, something can actually hurt them? I think I need to investigate further....

If he does an aal with new shocks, he'll actually have a positive lift. Then he can add shackles to level it out.

Why are you worried about hurting your jeep??? just dont put blocks on it for lift.

you shouldn't hurt any thing with a 2" just get a spacer and shackle kit so you can re use them when you decide to go bigger just about every company makes them and howler on here sells a spacer in the vender section.
