I have searched the forum, maybe I am wording it wrong but I need some help..
 

My 2000 cherokee sport 4.0 2 wheel dr , auto is having a water spewing problem. New water pump. System has been flushed many times in the past few weeks. Its not running hot but after I drive it a few miles or 20 miles after I cut it off a few minutes later it spews the water/ antifreeze out of the overflow tank. Do not see any sign of water inside the valve cover (just looking throught the oil cap.). Also the antifreeze turns a brownish color.

Have you drained the oil to check it for coolant?

Do I smell a case of the bad head casting? I can't think of the name of it right now, but someone with experience in the matter should specify how to tell if it is the bad casting or not.

If the coolant is turning brownish, that could be one of 3 things:
-very rusty water jackets, which is very unlikely.
-oil leaking into the coolant, which can happen
-some stupid mechanic put radiator stop leak in at some point, which happened to my jeep. I flushed the whole system about 4 times already, and it still has a hint of brownish/orange to it. That stuff can clog the system instead of stopping a leak. Very bad idea to put it in.

No I have not, I did check dip stick and its clean. Will drain tomorrow and check. Yes it is the 0331 head. I have been reading up on that but I have not found where it causes this problem. Has 137000 miles. I have also replaced radiator cap. When I replaced the water pump the fins were worn (rusted) off. Was told it could be clogged radiator of heater core, but if that was clogged woudnt it run hot ? Temp stays at 210.

It doesn't spit water until after it's been shut off a few minutes? Never while running?
That's typical of a bad radiator cap. Highest pressure is normally right after shutdown when the engine soaks the coolant with residual heat without fans to cool it or the pump to move it around.
What did you use for a new cap? How full are you keeping the overflow tank?

Advance Auto Radiator cap. Stant Lev-R-Vent. Thermostat was also changed. Also bottom hose replaced.

How full is the overflow tank? Too full and it'll spit when the radiator adds to it.

I keep it at the fill line. It spits out a lot.

Aren't there 2 lines?.......which one?......motor hot/cold when u add to the bottle?

The bottom line when it is cold

Blown head gasket or cracked head into the water jacket will cause what you are experiencing.

With the 0331 head your Jeep has, you might be able to see the crack between #3 and #4 valve casting by shining a flashlight through the oil filler hole. Or you can pull the valve cover.

In any case, I think the head will have to come off for further diagnosis.
