So I hydrolocked my 4.0 and took the spark plugs out and at first it sprayed out water but then it only started dripping out of the 6th cylinder but when you look inside there's still water in the throtle body.

Leave the 6th plug out and disconnect the injector. Then, start the motor.

Funny... Come on guys, (& now Monica), his first post....DJC, it IS appreciated when a poster goes through all the trouble of making their post easy to understand. Presenting one puzzle, with another a puzzle...well. We actually can be pretty nice but that is not so good a start.

You might do some searching....Engine, trans, and both diffs you may want to drain. Muddy water anywhere is not good, especially in an automatic.

If you fill out your info, posters will be able to see what you are talking about without needing to look for it.

Well it's a 1998 Cherokee classic. I was offroading and it died as I left a deep puddle. So I checked the air box and it was really damp so I took it off and my throttle body and intake manifold were filled with water. I did like everyone said and took out the spark plugs and started trying to turn it over. And at first the water was coming out with a lot of pressure but now there's just a tiny bit of water trickeling out of the 6th cylinder spark plug hole bit the intake still has a bunch of water

I misread his post, lol. Thought water was still in number 6.

Get a small vacuum and suck as much of the water that you can out or take the intake off.
You may be able to lean your jeep way over with a jack and get the water to run towards the air intake side to suck it out.

So more of a momentary splash as opposed to a real dunking. Others here likely have been here more than me. Me, if I could see water in say the TB, I'd swab it up, or tip it so it goes trough.

I think what Monica is getting at is if you can get it to fire for just a second on less than all the cyls, (with plugs out of others), the water in the open ones will be ejected.

You want to get it to where it will crank without overheating your starter. I mean don't crank it forever, like less than 1/2 the time. (crank 10, wait 20) In that situation I might use a little starting fluid. Emphasis on "little", I wouldn't give it much throttle when it starts to fire, go easy.
