Huge lifter problem

Default Huge lifter problem

ever since i got my xj it has always had a lifter noise only lely its got louer so yesterday i took the truck out after it sat for 2 days i started it and it was very very loud i started driving made it about ten miles or so and it shut off and now wont start just clickes it act as if motor is siezed but i don think it is think liters collapsed any one else had an issue like this?

I would put a breaker bar on the balancer bolt and see if it spins by hand. Collapsed lifters won't prevent it from cranking, it might have dropped a valve into the cylinder. Unless the noise you heard was a main or rod bearing, and it finally seized.

X2, if the engine is seized a collapsed lifter would not be the problem!
