What must you do to prep rims to paint them? What tools and what paint is best?

you best best is to scuff em up real good with a red scotch brite pad , make sure you actually sand out pits or chips with about 180-220 sand paper works best , use a nice primer and paint away , make sure you wipe them down after sanding with a nice solvent cleaner first, i would use a nice enamel paint it usually drys up pretty hard and tougher then a base coat/clear coat

if you want a flat look i would use a satin black or a trim black, usually paint labeld at flat black just looks like a dull primer

o yea most important , scrub the wheels really good before you even start with soap and water using a decent detergant , this will simplify a huge headache later with fish eyes and paint lifting problems

if you choose flat black over gloss , i would deff look for satin or trim black , the "flat black" just looks dull and ****ty, make sure you tape off your tires lol

Wipe them off really well after sanding before painting. It's all in the prep the painting is the easy part.
