how much power steering fluid in system
does anyone know what is the total amount of fluid volume within the power steering resevoir & PS pump?
I syringed out 300ml per time from the resevoir, till i had cycled thru a 1 litre bottle of Penrite Premium Power steering fluid
Pump whines a great deal less now, only at full lock

Old fart with a wrench
After cycling a quart thru the system, chances are you've got it all out. The steering box doesn't hold very much and probably less than the reservoir. At full lock, you're up against the stops and the pressure relief valve is open causing the whine. If the pump was new, it wouldn't hardly whine at all.
