How far on a tune-up?

Ok, like I said in my hello thread, I'm about to put this 92 Cherokee back on the road after the previous owner let it sit for two years. Besides the basic tune-up things like filters, thermostadt, oil change, spark plugs, brakes, and exhaust leak check, should I replace the timing chain, water pump, radiator belts and head gasket right away or is that needed? The mileage is over 130,000 miles. Thanks for any assistance.

Start with the basics, Plugs, wires, Cap, Rotor, flush and fill ALL fluids, change filters, belts, brakes. You may still need to do more. But depending on WHY the PO parked it, should get you going. Once you get it going you'll want to start a new repair and upgrade list.
This last list will be never ending, Jeeps are considered a terminal and incurable disease.

Does it run ok? I wouldn't mess with the timing chain or the head gasket. Serpentine belt wouldn't hurt. Water pump maybe. Check for oil leaks, it could need something like a valve cover gasket.

Do you know why the PO parked it? That would be useful info.

Thanks guys. I'll do the basics and then go from there. By the term Surpentine, you are refering to the fan belts, correct? Also, I have no idea why it sat for 2 years. I did drive it and it ran well. I took it through an inspection and it failed because of brakes, small pin-hole leaks in the exhaust pipe next to a good muffler, and a cracked interior rear view mirror. The steering creaked like the power steering pump was sick, but it got better after a few minutes of driving. As soon as all the parts get in, I'll get her back on the road and provide an update. Thanks again and don't hesitate to give more advise so I don't forget something critical.
