All I want to do is turn off the downwind O2 sensor. My tuner works on Vettes and Stangs and things of that nature and can't find a program to support the Cherokee. Getting the most from the stock engine wouldn't be a bad thing either but it's not a hot rod... I have 2 of those lol

i would suggest checking out the "street jeep" sections on some of the other forums......dont think theres a lot of guys on here using tuners on their jeeps but the other forums get pretty heavy into the tuning end of cherokees

I guess I'm not really wanting to tune it so much as get the most out of the stock engine. I'm no rock crawler so I usually try to gear the axles to running about the same rpm on big tires as it does on stock tires with stock gears but of course that creates drag from bigger heavier tires with more wind drag and all that nonsense. Guess what I'm saying is I want top efficiency out of the engine with a few bolt ons and bigger tires. Glad to hear about the o2 sensor btw.

Easy bolt ons huh?
Go for a tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and look into seafoam.
Bored throttle body (63 mm seems the biggest), upgraded intake (many options con filter setups, cowel intakes, or snorkels), Open up your exhaust a little bit (usually no bigger than 2.5"), upgrade the injectors (search injector swap there's about 1,0000 threads on here with all the info you could want), and of course regearing for bigger tires is there too.
That list seems to be the general idea of good cost effective bolt on upgrades, if I forgot something add to it lol.

Well I am capable of turboing it and using a piggyback fuel management system and I have a few of 4 wheel drive GM drivetrains at my disposal but I really didn't want to make this thing some frankenstiened powerhouse hot rod like everything else I own. I already sucked a bottle of seafoam through the engine and another one went in the tank and I did a minor tune up right after I dug it out of this dude's yard. I already put a cold air intake and a cat back on it so I don't suppose I'm gonna do much more to the engine. My main concern was to keep the computer happy with my mods and I know it will do harm to GM vehicles to delete the cat and not tell the computer through simulators or tuning. Just trying to keep from blowing the thing up cuz I got it for a steal

It's against forum rules for a reason, even if you are hinting at it...

I'm just using GM vehicles and that scenario as an example. Never said I was going to remove the catalytic converter from this Jeep, just asked if it was possible to deactivate the the rear 02 sensor.
