How do you remove an axle shaft?
I'm working on doing a disc brake conversion using some 8.8 discs from an explorer. However in order to remove the backing plates I have to pull the 8.8 shafts. How do I do this? I know you have to remove the C-clips from inside the differential but I can't see where they are located or how to get to them. Any links or pics are appreciated.

I had to get all James Bond-like and go deep undercover and sign up to a (ACK! GAG!) Ford site to get this info... It almost cost me my life...
Replacing rear axle wheel bearings
It looks almost like doing a D35, with a few slight differences.

Ya, I figured where they were behind the spiders like usually. This 8.8 has a limited slip in it so I could see the c-clips. Thanks for that link BowtieGuy3.
