how do I separate shifter from transmission
Hi there,
I am replacing a clutch in a '92 Cherokee and I have two more things to do before I can lower the transmission out of the way...separate the shifter then remove the two upper torx bolts. Can someone give me a tip on how to get the shifter up and out of the transmission. THANKS!!!!!!

Engine: 4.0 HO
pull the boot out and there is a cap around the base just push down and twist and you should be able to release the shift lever
