Default How To Decode Your Serial

SERIAL NUMBER IDENTIFICATION

Vehicle

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is stamped into a metal plate that is located on the left side of the instrument panel pad, visible through the windshield.
In addition to the VIN plate, the vehicle identification number is also stamped into a plate called the Body Code plate, which is located at the top, left side of the radiator reinforcement on all Grand Cherokee models, and on the left side of the firewall in the engine compartment on all other models. Pre-1990 model vehicles may have this plate attached to the left side of the radiator support. The VIN plate and the Body Code plate can be interpreted by the accompanying illustrations.

I just went to the dealer and handed him my ownership. he took the vin and did a search and printed out the build sheet for me.
No decoding needed. He even did it for my 91 Limited.
