How to build it leagal
I want to build my exoed 95 into an all out tubular buggy. Make solid frame and build off of that. The problem I have is I would like to make it street legal. I have asked cops and state troopers and looked on the DMV site and have found no answers. I live in Wisconsin and have seen VW sand rails but have yet to see one fueling up so I could ask them my? Anyone know were to find the answers I'm looking for?

not sure in your state but in oregon the law states that a vehicle must have blinkers, tails, and brake lights, head lights, and back up lights. working front markers and turn signals, also working windsheild wipers... but a windshield is not required.
if no windshield is installed you must wear eye protection.
also all vins must be intact and unmodified..
like i said that in my state but from what ive heard almost every state is the same
hope this helps at all

See that's the problem I don't want to use anything but the drive-train. And I'm in Wisconsin. Shouldn't I be able to get a hold of a list of laws somewhere ???

call up dmv info line thats how i figured out my info.
and as for sandrail or vw buggies the only way there street legal is cause its required to use the vw pan that has the vin on it... factory vins are whats gonna screw you if you dont use any of the frame..

Move to MI, you just need 4 wheels or 3 or 2, head lights, tail lights, license plate and insurance. I use to drive my 84 honda odyssey ATV all over. Cops would give me **** about no turn signals, i used my arms which is just fine for turn signals and carried paper work with me to prove it was legal

Check with your DMV for custom/kit etc. made cars. Many states will issue a vin once it has been inspected, typically by state police, troopers etc.
