how big of a pain in the *** is this?
replacing rear lower quarter panel due to rust. The area I'm specifically referring to is right behind the rear wheel wells and under the plastic bumper end caps. I don't have a welder but would find someone who does. Is it a pain to fix?

IMO, don't go through the hassle of fixing the rust. Get yourself an angle grinder or sawzall, rivet gun, and some seam sealer and do a cut and fold. Figure on spending most of a day to get it done. Good upgrade to do and you're eliminating some clearance issues. I went this route and am happy I did it.

I don't have an aftermarket bumper though so that gap would look rather funky without doing something in the space.
