Default Hose that runs to front diff..

Well I found a loose hose rubbing my front drive shaft but it leads the the front axle mellon where the gears are. Sorry don't know the name of it but anyways it leads up into the engine bay but dead ends with a plastic thing in the end of it and I don't see where it could clip into?? Any ideas what it is? I can upload pics of it if need be but can't off my phone

It is the vent for the front differential, you also have one for the rear differential. I always run them up inside the engine bay and attach them to the firewall to keep water out.

There's 2 hoses on my '99 CHerokee I'm wondering what they are. One is on the passenger side near the dipstick about 3/4" diameter with a black cap on it. The other hose is on the drivers side near the firewall about 1/2" diameter with a white small plastic cap on it. I know one is the front diff vent hose, but which one is it and whats the other one go to ?

I have a 99 also, I think there is one that goes to front diff, then also one that goes to trans(on pass side black cap). When I pulled the motor on mine didn't pay much attention to where those hoses went.

Pretty sure both are vents. I know for certain that the one on the driver's side is for your front diff. I believe the other one on the passenger side is for the tranny.
