Hose from differntial goes to engine bay and then is just capped?
So while ripping stuff out of my engine bay to facilitate replacing the cylinder head I find this half inch hose with a rather funny cap on it. The
fitting fits snugly in the hose and then the cap on the fitting is rather lose and wobbly.

So I trace it down to the other end and see it ends in the front differential.

My curiosity wonders what this is for? It makes no sense to me that it is routed all the way up to the engine bay and then just capped. Should it be going somewhere? Did it break off or something?
